Scripts vs. Executables

The page describes the main differences between a script and an executable, and when each is acceptable.

scripts generally implies computer programs that have to be interpreted by another program (an executable), it's main advantage though is that the program doesn't need to be recompiled after a change is made to the behavior of the script.

executables are ready to run; making a change to the program requires the source code, and proper compiler; major advantage over the script is performance
